Practicing for the Hunt

Last weekend my brother came down from Idaho and decided we all needed to have lunch together and a Practice Easter Egg Hunt. It was so fun watching the kids look. He let all the little ones go out first since they pretty much walk by everything. Most of them needed a little help. It was cute hearing Clarissa every time she spotted something. She got all excited. Then he finally let the older kids loose and they were running all over the place.

Below are pictures of some of my nieces and nephews and one of their mom. lol We have loved that they have moved back from Florida. We have seen them a lot more now. I don't even cry now when I have to say goodbye because I know it won't be another 6 months to a year until I see them again. lol :)

Below is just a picture of the Dutch Oven cooking Corey and I did last Sunday. It was so delicious. I just had to throw this in the blog post as well. I am getting hungry for it just lookin' at it.

34 years....OLD

Yes, I went there. I posted my age. So what! Ya'll knew how old I was anyway. I just have to tell you how cute my kids were. Tayden had been wanting me to have a cake all day long. So when Corey got home from work he told him I needed one but that he couldn't get the eggs. While Corey and Clarissa went off to the store for dinner supplies Tayden wouldn't drop the whole cake thing. Corey had gone downstairs before he left and got the eggs. Braxton, Samantha, and Tayden decided they could make the cake. With little supervision from me they did it. It was the cutest thing ever. I didn't help at all. Of course Tayden couldn't wait to decorate the cake either. He wanted me to have a Tinker Bell or Barbie cake or something like that. When the cake was cool enough Tayden and Clarissa got to decorate my cake. Didn't they do an awesome job? ;) It was the highlight of the day. And of course there are birthday pictures of me. You can no longer see the three inches of roots that had grown in since I last did my hair. (as pictured below) lol I got it recolored on Wed. Maybe if I look cute enough one day I will post pics of it.

Boot Scootin' Birthday

Sammy had a fabulous birthday! Thanks for all the birthday wishes to her. For her day of celebration we had both sets of Grandparents over and her Aunt Ashlee. Unfortunately, one Grandpa couldn't make it due to Bishop meetings but he did call her to wish her Happy Birthday. She wanted brownies and Pie for her treat. I made Chocolate Chip Caramel brownies and Chocolate Pie with HOMEMADE CRUST....I'm not talkin' about Pillsbury either. Actual homemade stuff. Pat myself on the back for that one. Anyway, I have had requests to show off the adorable boots she got. She so wanted cowgirl boots NOT cowboy boots. They are not that so don't call 'em that. They are cowGIRL boots. Anway, now on to preparing for the baptism!

Happy Birthday Samantha!

Samantha is 8 years old today! WOW-WOW-WOW! I really can't believe it. She was only 3 when we moved into our house. What happened to the time? Sammy is such a sweetheart. I am so lucky to be her mom. She seems so much older than eight to me. I have to remind myself that she is still just a little girl. Although, she likes to act all grown up and have me put make-up on her and paint her nails. She looks so much older when the make-up goes on. But it is fun to do with her. We had a little girl friend party for her on Saturday. It was Easter themed. We had some of her favorite finger foods for lunch as you see pictured. You'll also notice I tried to be healthy. We put together Candy Easter necklaces, Easter Character stick puppets, and had an Easter Egg hunt. I think the girls had a lot of fun. We will celebrate a bit more tonight with the Grandparents. We love you so much Sammy. We are so happy that you are part of out lives forever.
